W/ IMPORTER’S PROVENANCE LETTER
Very good condition pre WWII Japanese Type 38 Arisaka Rifle in 6.5 x 50mm caliber that was manufactured by Tokyo Arsenal without a series marking. Mum is overstamped with the Tokyo Arsenal symbol, indicating it was sold out of service. This particularly interesting rifle was sold to Russia during WWI as war aid and was subsequently acquired by the Finns either during their War of Independence, or during the Winter War of Continuation War. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and comes with a letter from the importer stating it was imported from Finland. Gun has all matching assembly numbers except the magazine box. Metal finish is nice original blue showing a little normal wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has been refinished and shows some normal handling marks. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and matching numbered dustcover. A rare Russian and Finn used T-38 rifle that will make a fine advanced addition to a collection.
