Very good condition WWI German Kar 98az Mauser Rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber that was manufactured by Erfurt Arsenal in 1916, as marked on the receiver ring. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers except the bolt and buttplate. Rifle is unit marked “16.U.3.21.” on the buttplate tang for the 16th (Altmark) Uhlans “Hennigs von Treffenfeld”. Metal finish is original blue showing some normal wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock, underside of buttstock, and underside of wrist have Imperial German proof mark cartouches. A nice WWI German Kar 98az Mauser Rifle for your collection.
