Very fine condition original antique Civil War US Army Burnside Fifth Model Cavalry Carbine in .54 caliber. Mechanically functions fine and has nice markings. Lock, receiver, and buttplate have strong original case colors showing light wear. Remaining metal finish is nice original blue showing very little wear. Bore is bright and excellent except for a little fouling in the grooves, and has strong rifling. Stock has beautiful original finish and shows a few normal handling marks. Left side of wrist has two sharp clear inspector cartouches. A beautiful Civil War Burnside Carbine that will make an excellent addition to a collection!
