Fine condition antique Imperial German 71/84 Mauser Rifle in 11mm Mauser caliber that has Erfurt Arsenal markings on the barrel and dated 1887 on the receiver. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers except the magazine follower. Rifle is unit marked “45.R.E.1.112.” on the buttplate tang for the 45th (8th East Prussian) Infantry Regiment, Ersatz Battalion, Company 1, Weapon 112. Receiver, bolt, and buttplate are original “in the white” with a little gray and brown patina. Remaining metal finish is nice original blue showing very little wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and may have been lightly buffed, and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock and underside of buttstock have Imperial German proof mark cartouches. Mechanically functions fine including working magazine cutoff.
