Fine condition US military M1 Garand semi auto rifle in .30-06 caliber that was manufactured by Springfield Armory, as marked on the receiver. Receiver is serial number 6082xxx, which dates it to manufacture in 1956. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all Springfield Armory parts. Barrel is dated “5-56” for May 1956. This is a very late production gun, almost at the end of all manufacture. Metal finish is original gray parkerized showing a little normal wear. Bore has a very slight pitted ring, otherwise bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side of stock has a DOD eagle cartouche below the rear of the receiver. Underside of buttstock has a “circle P” cartouche. A nice, very late Springfield M1 Garand!
