Excellent condition antique Sharps Model 1874 sporting “Buffalo” rifle in .50-70 Government caliber. Mechanically, it functions fine and has good markings and a single trigger. The receiver has original case colors faded to brown and gray patina. The remaining metal finish is original blue, showing some wear to brown and plum brown patina. 30” half octagon, half round barrel has original sights. Bore is good with strong rifling and some light pitting. Has a pitted ring a few inches from the muzzle. The stock has its original finish and shows some normal handling marks. A nice Sharps Buffalo Rifle that will make an excellent addition to a collection.
