Good condition Japanese Navy Type 35 Arisaka “Hook Safety” Rifle in 6.5 x 50mm caliber that has a full untouched mum on the receiver and was manufactured by Tokyo Arsenal. This interesting gun was either captured by the Russians during the Russo-Japanese War or supplied to Russia during WWI, and wound up in Finnish stores (Finland was part of Russia until 1918), and has a Finnish Civil Gard “S 106346” district number marking in the right side buttstock for Jyvaskyla. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching assembly numbers except the bolt. Mechanically complete and functions fine. Metal finish is original blue showing some wear. Bore is dark with average rifling. Stock has original finish and shows heavy handling marks, dings, and gouges. Underside of buttstock has three small kanji character inspector proof marks and a naval arsenal anchor marking. Complete with a replaced cleaning rod. Muzzle has been slightly cut back. A rare Finn Civil Guard marked Type 35 rifle that will make a fine advanced addition to a collection.
