Good condition original antique Civil War Remington New Army Revolver in .44 percussion caliber. One of about 1,000 purchased by the state of New Jersey and is marked “N.J” on the left side of the barrel. Top of barrel has nice Remington address, and an unusual “A” marking. Mechanically functions fine. Metal has nice looking plum brown patina. 8” octagonal barrel has a fair bore with good rifling and some pitting. Wood grips have original finish and show some wear. Left side has a crack. A hard to find Civil War New Jersey marked Remington New Army Revolver that will make a fine addition to a collection.
