Good condition original antique English .58 caliber flintlock trade musket. Lock has the “elephant & castle” marking and is also marked “WARRANTED”. Breech has “30” gauge marking and two British proof marks. Metal has nice even plum brown patina with some light pitting throughout. 51” barrel has a slight bend, as is common with these poor quality trade guns. Smooth bore is dark and pitted. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Complete with correct original bone-tipped ramrod. An interesting English flintlock trade musket that will make a fine addition to a collection.
