Good condition original antique Civil War Gallager breechloading cavalry carbine in .50 percussion caliber. Mechanically functions fine. Trigger is an old, hand made replacement. Lock has good markings. Metal has mostly plum brown patina with some scattered pitting. 22 ¼” barrel has original sights. Bore is dark with oxidation and pitting, and has good rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some wear and handling marks. Left side buttstock has faint carved letters. A good representative example of a Civil War Gallager Carbine.
