Very good condition Swedish Model 1896 Mauser Rifle in 6.5 x 55mm caliber that was manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1919, as marked on the receiver ring. This example was one of 77,000 purchased by Finland during the Winter War and has the Finnish army “boxed SA” property stamp on the left side of the receiver. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has all matching serial numbers except the cleaning rod. Metal finish is nice original blue showing a little normal wear. Receiver ring and bridge both have a small filled hole where they were drilled and tapped for scope bases. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Underside of wrist has two Swedish crown proof marks. Right side buttstock has original brass bore condition marking disc. Complete with original nonmatching numbered cleaning rod. A nice, hard to find Finn marked Swede M96 Mauser rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
