Good condition original Civil War era British Pattern 1853 Enfield socket bayonet that has a few British proof marks on the blade flat. Bayonet has mostly brown and gray patina. Blade is full length 17 ¼” long. Complete with working lock ring. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has brass throat and tip. Leather shows some wear, stitching is tight. Also complete with the scarce original leather frog. Leather is pliable with some wear and cracking. Stitching and rivets are tight. A classic Civil War era British P53 Enfield bayonet that will make a great addition to a collection.
