Very good condition original Vietnam War US military issue Savage Model 77E Riot Gun 12 gauge pump action shotgun. Mechanically functions fine. Serial number 42xxx, which is in the correct range. Right side of receiver has original “U.S.” property marking. Receiver and barrel have “P” proof marks. Right rear of receiver is marked “SCHD”, indicating the gun was used to the South Carolina Highway Department after it was withdrawn from military service. Metal finish is nice original gray parkerized showing a little normal wear. 20” barrel has a very good bright bore. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Gun has original factory red rubber recoil pad, which shows some cracking. The Savage 77E was the only Vietnam War US military shotgun that came from the factory with a rubber recoil pad.
