Good condition original antique Civil War US Army Burnside 5th Model breechloading cavalry carbine in .54 caliber. Mechanically functions fine and has good markings. The takedown pin has a broken head. Metal has brown and gray patina. Bore is good with strong rifling and some pitting. Stock shows some wear and handling marks. Forend has a few chips. Left side of wrist has faint inspector cartouches. A good honest example of a classic Civil War Burnside Carbin.
