Very good condition antique Russian Model 1891 Mosin Nagant Rifle in 7.62 x 54r caliber that has Chatellerault Arsenal markings on the barrel and dated 1894. Rifle was captured and reissued by the Finns and has the Finnish army “boxed SA” property marking on the left side of the barrel shank. Rifle is NOT import marked. The bolt was Finn renumbered to match the barrel. Buttplate does not match and floorplate is unnumbered. This is common and correct for Finnish Mosin Nagant Rifles. Metal finish is nice Finn arsenal reblue. Bore is good, gray with strong rifling and some pitting. Finn two-piece stock has nice original finish and crisp edges with a few normal handling marks. Right side buttstock has a sharp clear Finn arms depot cartouche. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and Finnish sling swivels. A nice example of a rare Chatellerault M91 Mosin Nagant Rifle.
