Excellent condition original WWII Yugoslavian M24B Mauser bayonet that was modified from a reissued WWI German 98/05 Mauser butcher bayonet. Bayonet has German double maker marked-“GEBR. HARTKOPF SOLINGEN” on the left ricasso and “Walter & Co. Muhlhausen in Thr.” on the right ricasso. Dated 1917 on the spine. Marked “M24B” on the left side of the guard. Bayonet has excellent Yugoslavian blue metal finish. Wood grips have Yugoslavian finish and a good tight fit with some normal handling marks, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has excellent original blue metal finish and no dents. Also complete with original leather frog. Leather is soft and supple with a little normal wear, stitching is tight. A rare bayonet that will make a fine addition to a collection.
