
Very good condition original WWII Japanese army officer Shin Gunto sword. 24 ¾” blade has nice original bright finish with a few minor scuffs. Tang has untouched patina. Right side has a few black painted kanji numbers. Left side has two signed kanji characters. Wooden tsuka has nice white rayskin covering and tight cloth tape wrap showing some normal wear. Held to the tang with a single bamboo mekugi, which is broken. Features a single menuki on both sides, depicting three cherry blossoms. Brass tsuba has attractive patina, and has four seppa on both sides. Scabbard lock button is present and works fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has original paint showing some wear and several dents. A nice, classic WWII Japanese army officer Shin Gunto.
