Very good condition Swedish Model 1896 Mauser Rifle in 6.5 x 55mm caliber that was manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1916, as marked on the receiver. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers except the handguard and rear sight. The serial number in the stock channel has been removed. Rifle is fitted with a Carl Gustafs GF receiver aperture sight that has an incorrect “Elit” marked rubber cover. Rifle has a custom swept-back bolt handle with a large black plastic knob. Has a globe type target front sight. Rifle has original blue finish showing some normal wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock was refinished and has nice looking finish. Right side buttstock has a repair patch below the receiver bridge. Right side buttstock has original brass bore condition marking disc. Also fitted with a wooden pistol grip attachment. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and leather target sight. A nice Swede M96 Mauser target rifle that will make a great addition to a collection and a fun shooter.
