Very good condition original Indian Wars US Army 1875 Modified Pistol Cartridge Box. Modified/converted from a Civil War percussion cap pouch, by removing the internal flap and fleece. This pattern is described on pages 9-10 of “Indian War Cartridge Pouches, Boxes and Carbine Boots” by R. Stephen Dorsey. Leather is pliable with some normal wear and crazing. Stitching and rivets are tight. Hard to find Indian Wars cartridge pouch variant.
