Good condition original WWI Imperial German Model 1889 cavalry officer dress sword. 31 ¾” blade has original bright plated finish with some wear and graying. Nice original etched panels on both sides of the blade and the spine. Right side of blade is unit marked to the 13 (1st Hannover) King’s Uhlans. Left side of blade has their battle honors. The blue in the etched panels is mostly worn away. Not maker marked. Hilt has original bright plated finish. Guard has the Prussian eagle. Sword is unit marked “13.U.1.51.” on the backside of the guard for the 13th Uhlans, Eskadron 1, Weapon 51. Black hard rubber grip has no damage. Fitted in an incorrect replacement steel scabbard that is slightly curved and has original black paint finish with some wear, no dents. A good example of a German M1889 KOD for your collection.
