Good condition antique French Mle 1866 Chassepot rifle in 11mm needlefire caliber. This interesting gun is a commercial example with “eagle” markings on the receiver ring and bolt. This marking was used by the firm of Felix Eischoffler. The “needle” firing pin is missing, but the original obturator is present. Otherwise works fine. Metal has mostly brown patina. There is some pitting on the bands, triggerguard, and buttplate. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling and a little pitting. Complete with correct original clearing rod. Rifle is NOT import marked. The serial numbers on the receiver and bolt do not match. A scarce Chassepot rifle variation that will make a great addition to a collection!
