Very good condition WWII Finnish Civil Guard M28/30 Mosin Nagant Rifle in 7.62 x 54r caliber that has the Sako Arsenal marking on the barrel and dated 1937, with the Civil Guard “Sk.Y.” marking. Rifle has a Civil Guard district marking on the right side of the barrel shank-“S111480” for Raahe. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has matching serial numbers on the barrel and bolt. Floorplate does not match, and buttplate is unnumbered. This is common and correct for Finnish Mosin Nagant Rifles. Metal finish is nice original blue, with some wear on the buttplate. Bore is gray with some pitting and has average rifling that shows some wear. Has been counter bored at the muzzle. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Early type with “ski trooper” dual sling slots. Rear part of two-piece stock is Westinghouse marked. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A good example of a scarce Finn Civil Guard M28/30 Mosin Nagant Rifle with desirable dual sling slots and nice district marking.
