Very good condition original Swiss Model 1878 Vetterli Pioneer sawback bayonet that is maker marked “S.J.G. NEUHAUSEN” on the right ricasso. Blade has nice original bright finish. Edge has a few nicks. Hilt has original bright finish with some gray and brown patina. Checkered hard rubber grips have a good tight fit and no damage. Lock button and leaf spring function fine. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has steel throat and tip. Leather shows some normal wear, stitching and rivets are tight. A hard to find bayonet that will make a fine addition to a collection.
