
Very good condition antique British Mark II** Snider Short Rifle in .577 Snider caliber. Mechanically functions fine and tight. Lock is marked “1863 ENFIELD” with the Victorian crown. Breech ring has the model designation. Barrel, breech, and breech block have British proof marks. Lock, triggerguard, and buttplate are “in the white” with some gray and brown patina. 30 5/8” barrel has original sights and bayonet lug. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling and a little pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Rifle shows Canadian use with a “DC diamond” cartouche in the left side buttstock. Right side buttstock has a “B.S.A.Co.” roundel cartouche. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A hard to find Canadian marked Snider short rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
