FRISTER & ROSSMANN, HERMES-DATED 1917
Very good condition original WWI German 98/05 Mauser butcher bayonet that is double maker marked, with “EMIL-HERMES-ERN SOLINGEN” on the left ricasso and “Frister & Rossmann” on the right ricasso. Dated 1917 on the spine. Blade has original bright finish with some minor staining. Hilt has original bright finish with some gray and brown patina. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit with some normal handling marks, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has original blue finish with some brown patina, no dents. A nice 98/05 Mauser butcher bayonet with uncommon double maker markings.
