Very good condition Swedish Model 1896 Mauser Rifle in 6.5 x 55mm caliber that was manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1922, as marked on the receiver ring. 1922 dated M96 rifles are hard to find, with only 5,112 produced. This example was one of 77,000 purchased by Finland during the Winter War and has the Finnish army “boxed SA” property stamp on the left side of the receiver. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has all matching serial numbers. Metal finish is nice original blue showing very little wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows a few normal handling marks. Underside of wrist has two Swedish crown proof marks. Right side buttstock has original brass bore condition marking disc. Complete with correct original numbered cleaning rod. Muzzle is threaded and complete with protector. A nice, hard to find Finn marked Swede M96 Mauser rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
