Good condition original antique Japanese Tanegashima percussion musket in about .55 caliber. Similar to the classic matchlock, but uses percussion caps. Has an unusual marking on the barrel, likely a Samurai family mon. Mechanically sticky and needs adjustment. Metal is mostly bright, with some gray and brown patina and some scattered pitting. 32 ¾” barrel has a dark pitted smooth bore. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. The inlay on the butt is absent. Comes with a new manufactured brass-tipped ramrod. A classic Japanese Tanegashima that will make a great addition to a collection.
