ONLY 200 MADE WITH BRASS FRAME-RARE
Good condition antique Ball & Williams Ballard Sporting Rifle in .44 rimfire caliber that is a very rare example with a brass frame and lever. Ball & Williams only produced 5,000 Ballard sporting rifles, and only an estimated 200 had brass frames. Mechanically functions fine. Brass has attractive patina. 26” octagonal barrel has plum brown patina. Sights are original, but rear sight has been modified. Bore is dark gray in the grooves and has average rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Both sides of wrist have a few cracks. Toe has a small chip and a repair. A rare brass frame Ball & Williams Ballard Rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
