CIVIL WAR BURNSIDE MODEL OF 1864 (5TH MODEL) CAVALRY CARBINE-NICE MARKINGS
Very good condition original antique Civil War Burnside Model of 1864 (aka 5th Model) cavalry carbine in .54 caliber. Mechanically functions fine and has clear markings. The case colors on the frame and lock are worn to silver patina. Remaining metal finish is original blue showing wear to brown patina. 21” barrel has original sights. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling and a little pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some handling marks and dings. Right side of forend has a gouge. Left side of wrist has two inspector cartouches. A nice Burnside Carbine for your collection.
