Excellent condition, as refinished Soviet Russian SKS semi auto rifle in 7.62 x 39 caliber that has the Tula Arsenal “star” marking on the bolt housing and dated 1949. This early, first year production rifle is import marked on the barrel and has all matching serial numbers. Rifle has all early features including ring type bolt housing pin, large rear sight base, right-angle gas block, and cruciform spike bayonet. Rifle has all matching serial numbers. Metal finish is reblue in excellent condition. Rifle was arsenal refinished, but this blue finish appears to be a non-arsenal. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has been refinished and has attractive even finish, also appears to be a non-arsenal done. Left side buttstock has a faint matching serial number. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and cleaning kit that stores in the butt trap. Folding bayonet functions fine. A very rare and desirable, very early 1949 dated Russian SKS that will make an excellent addition to a collection!
