Very good condition Dutch KNIL (Dutch East Indies Colonial) Model 1895 Mannlicher turnbolt rifle in 6.5 x 53r caliber that was manufactured by Hembrug in 1921, as marked on the receiver side rail. Rifle is import marked on the right side of the receiver ring and has all matching serial numbers except the bolt, ejector box, and front band. Metal finish is nice original blue showing a little normal wear. There is some scattered pitting around the stock line. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Top of wrist has a repaired chip behind the receiver. Right side buttstock has original brass unit marking plates. One is marked “1-Inf. XV 105” for the 15th Infantry Battalion. The other is marked “K.116. P.P./D.PL.A.D.” I have not been able to decipher this one. A nice, better than average KNIL M95 Mannlicher Rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
