Very good condition US M1D Garand semi auto sniper rifle in .30-06 caliber. Receiver is marked “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” and is serial number 395xxx, which dates it to manufacture in October 1941. Rifle has a June 1952 dated Springfield barrel which has correct contract number on top under the handguard. Rifle has Springfield op rod, trigger housing, and bolt. Early lock bar rear sight. I am uncertain if the M84 scope and T37 flash hider are original. Scope has nice blue finish and clear optics. Rifle has nice original parkerized finish. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side of stock has a DOD eagle cartouche below the receiver. Underside of wrist has “circle P” cartouche and a few stamped letters and numbers. Fitted with an ”MRT” marked leather cheek rest. Rifle does not have DCM or CMP paperwork, so I do not know if it is an original sniper. It is, however, at least a nice looking M1D sniper style Garand that will make an excellent addition to a collection!
