Very good condition original WWII Japanese army officer Shin Gunto sword. 26 ¼” blade has beautiful original bright finish with a few gray spots. Both sides of tang have several signed kanji characters. Wooden tsuka has nice white rayskin covering and tight cloth tape wrap. Held the tang with a single bamboo mekugi. Features a single menuki on both sides depicting three cherry blossoms. Brass tuba has two seppa on both sides. Scabbard latch is present but does not lock securely. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has nice original green paint and a few dents. A nice WWII Japanese officer sword that will make a fine addition to a collection.
