Good condition original WWI Imperial German 84/98 Mauser sawback bayonet that is maker marked “GOTTILIEB HAMMESFAHR SOLINGE FOCHE” on the left ricasso and has a Fraktur letter proof mark on the spine, not dated. Has an unusual “FLZ1532” unit marking on the left side of the guard for a Flieger (flight) related unit. Blade has original bright finish with some light pitting. Hilt has original bright finish with some graying and light pitting. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit with some normal handling marks. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has original blue finish showing some normal wear and some patches of pitting. Has an etched Social Security number. No dents. A nice WWI German 84/98 Mauser sawback bayonet for your collection.
