Very good condition WWI Canadian MK II*** Ross straight pull rifle in .303 British caliber that has nice Ross manufacturer markings on the receiver. Mechanically functions fine. Rifle is one of 20,000 purchased by the US government and used for home guard and training purposes. Rifle has the “U.S.” marking on the stock on the underside of the wrist along with a flaming bomb. Rifle has original blue finish showing some normal wear. Bore is dark and pitted from shooting corrosive ammo. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side of stock has a crack between the magazine depressor and the front of the triggerguard. Right side buttstock has several Canadian cartouches including the “QUEBEC” roundel, 1909 date, and model designation. Complete with original front sight hood and Kerr Nobuckl web sling. A nice example of a “U.S.” surcharged Ross rifle.
