Very good condition pre WWII US Model 1903 Springfield Rifle in .30-06 caliber. Receiver is marked “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” and is serial number 1436xxx, which dates it to manufacture in 1933. Rifle is NOT import marked. Barrel is marked “SA” for Springfield Armory and dated “8-32” for August 1932. Receiver rail has a punch dot marking, possibly indicating National Match use. Muzzle has an indistinct marking that does not appear to be a star. Bolt is marked “N.S.” and has a swept-back handle, smooth cocking piece, and reversed safety. Metal finish is original gray parkerized showing a little normal wear. Bore is dark gray with good rifling and some pitting. C type stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side of stock has a Raritan Arsenal “RA-P” rework cartouche by the magazine cutoff cutout. Forend tip is marked “C”. Complete with front sight hood.
