Very good condition antique Swiss Model 1871 Vetterli rifle in 10.4mm rimfire (.41 Swiss) caliber that was manufactured by Cordier & Cie., as marked on the left side of the receiver. This company only produced about 4,000 Vetterli Rifles. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers. Metal finish is original blue showing some wear to plum brown and brown patinas. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right sides of buttstock and forend have Swiss shield proof marks and matching serial numbers. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A nice Swiss Vetterli rifle by a scarce maker.
