Very fine condition WWI French Mle 1907-15 Berthier Rifle in 8mm Lebel caliber that was manufactured under contract by Remington and has nice manufacturer markings on the receiver and barrel. Rifle is NOT import marked and NOT Balle N marked, and likely was never actually delivered to France. Metal finish is excellent original blue. Bolt and buttplate are original “in the white”. Bolt has some gray and brown patina. Buttplate has some brown patina and a little pitting. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. American Walnut stock has nice original finish. There is a chip to the right of the receiver tang. Underside of wrist has a small circular proof mark. Right side of stock is marked “46” below the rear of the receiver. A nice Remington Berthier Rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection.
