Fine condition Swedish Model 1896 Mauser rifle in 6.5 x 55mm caliber that was manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1915, as marked on the receiver. This rifle is one of 77,000 purchased by Finland in 1940, and has the Finnish army “boxed SA” property stamp on the left side of the receiver. Rifle is import marked on the barrel and has all matching serial numbers except the rear sight. Metal finish is nice original blue showing very little wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some handling marks and scratches. Right side buttstock has original brass bore condition marking disc. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A rare Finn marked Swede M96 Mauser rifle that will make an excellent addition to a collection.
