Very good condition WWI French Mle M.16 Berthier Musketoon in 8mm Lebel caliuber that has Et Continsouza manufacturer and model designation markings on the receiver. Barrel is marked “MA C” for Chatellerault Arsenal and dated 19918. Carbine is NOT import marked and NOT Balle N marked, and has all matching serial numbers including barrel, receiver, bolt body, bolt head, triggerguard, and stock. Gun shows rare and desirable pre-WWII Polish use with a “ZBR.2.3.36.” cartouche in the right side buttstock indicating Cracow Arsenal rework in 1936. Metal finish is nice original blue showing a little normal wear. Bore is about good with some pitting and has good average rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock also has a matching serial number. The right side of the recoil lug is missing. A rare Polish marked Berthier Carbine with all matching numbers.
