W/ SODERIN RECEIVER APERTURE SIGHT
Very good condition antique Swedish Model 1896 Mauser Rifle in 6.5 x 55mm caliber that was manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1898, as marked on the receiver. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers except the floorplate, stock, and handguard. Rifle is fitted with a Soderin receiver aperture sight and a globe type front sight. The leaf rear sight was removed. Metal finish is nice original blue showing very little wear. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock has a silver disc inlay that is engraved “E H 1943”. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A nice, uncommon and desirable antique dated Swedish M96 Mauser rifle.
