Good condition antique Japanese Type 22 Murata Rifle in 8mm Murata caliber. The mum on the barrel has been overstamped with two concentric circles but is NOT ground or peened and receiver has nice kanji markings. Rifle has all matching serial numbers except the front band, buttplate, and buttplate screws. The ejector is missing, otherwise mechanically functions fine including working magazine cutoff, bolt head is a reproduction. Metal finish is original blue mostly turned plum brown. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some and handling marks. Both sides of forend has a crack below the receiver/barrel and left side of stock has a chip by the receiver and a crack by the wrist. Right side buttstock has a nice roundel cartouche. The front band screw is absent and handguard is removed. A good example of a hard to find Japanese Type 22 Murata Rifle.
