Very good condition original WWI Austrian Model 1861 infantry officer sword. 30 ¼” blade has nice original bright finish and sharp crisp etched panels on both sides. Right side is marked “Got schutze Dich” (God Bless) with 1916 date. Hilt has original bright plated finish with some flaking. Pommel cap has engraved monogram. Sharkskin covered grip has tight wire wrap and no damage. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has original bright finish with some gray and brown patina and one or two dents. A nice WWI Austrian officer sword, hard to find with an etched blade.
