Very good condition WWII German 98k Mauser Rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber that is marked “ax 41” on the receiver for manufacture by Erma in 1941. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers except the cleaning rod. Metal finish is original blue showing some wear. Bore is good, bright with strong rifling and a little light pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock has “eagle H” and Waffenamt cartouches. Undersides of wrist and buttstock also have Waffenamts. Underside of buttstock has a matching serial number. Rifle is complete with correct original front sight hood and nonmatching numbered cleaning rod. A good example of an uncommon “ax 41” 98k Mauser Rifle.
