Good condition original antique Kentucky style .52 caliber flintlock smoothbore “rifle” musket. Mechanically functions fine and is unmarked. Metal has brown and gray patina. 36” octagonal barrel has low-profile buckhorn rear and brass blade front sights. The size of this rifle may indicate it was made for a youth. Bore is dark and pitted. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side of stock has a crack in front of the side plate. Right side of stock has a repair patch in front of the lock and a brass patch repair below the lock, the front triggerguard screw is missing. Complete with a brass-tipped wooden ramrod. A good original Kentucky “Rifle” that will make a fine addition to a collection.
