Very good condition US military M1D Garand Sniper Rifle in .30-06 caliber that has an M84 scope. Receiver is marked “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” and is serial number 2855xxx, which dates it to manufacture in April 1944. Barrel is marked “S-A-9-52” for manufacture by Springfield Armory in September 1952, and has correct “D7312555” drawing number on top under the rear handguard. I am uncertain if the gun is an original sniper as there is no CMP paperwork with it. However, the barrel is an original M1D barrel. Rifle is NOT import marked and has Springfield bolt, op rod, and trigger housing. Scope has nice blue finish and clear optics. Metal finish is nice original parkerized. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side of stock has a DOD eagle cartouche below the receiver. Underside of wrist has “circle P” and “X6” markings. A nice M1D Garand sniper rifle that will make a fine addition to a collection and a good shooter.
