Very good condition WWI British No. I MK III* SMLE Enfield rifle in .303 British caliber that is a “Peddle Scheme” gun, manufactured by the National Rifle Factory. So called because it was assembled using subcontracted parts and “peddled” to the British government. Rifle is marked “N.R.F.” on the back of the receiver. Right side of receiver socket has model designation and dated 1918. Rifle is import marked on the receiver and has all matching serial numbers. Barrel is dated 1917. Metal finish is arsenal reblue. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock was arsenal refinished and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock has original brass unit marking disc that is stamped “AA 6.33 11”. A nice example of a hard to find “Peddle Scheme” No. I MK III SMLE Enfield Rifle with matching numbers.
