US MILITARY INSPECTOR MARKED ON GRIP
Good condition original antique Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver in .44 percussion caliber that is serial number 137xxx, which dates it to manufacture in 1863. Mechanically functions fine and tight and has all matching serial numbers. Metal is worn to the white, with some gray and brown patina. There are some dings on the barrel around the wedge. Loading lever retains some strong original case colors and may be a replacement. Hammer has faded case colors. The engraved cylinder scene is worn but visible. 8” barrel has a poor bore that is worn almost smooth and has some pitting. Wood grip has original finish and shows some wear and handling marks. Both sides of grip have a faint inspector cartouche. Gun comes with an old green velvet lined wooden case, empty primer tin, and original bullet mold. A good representative example of a classic Civil War Colt 1860 Army Revolver.
