Very good condition antique US Model 1884 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle in .45-70 caliber. Lock is marked “U.S. / SPRINGFIELD” with the American eagle. Breech block is marked “MODEL 1884”. Barrel has “VP” and eagle head proof marks. Mechanically functions fine and tight. Metal has been reblued. Bore is good with strong rifling and a little gray. Stock has been refinished. Complete with correct original cleaning rod. A nice looking Model 1884 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle.
