Good condition original US Model 1899 Krag Jorgensen Carbine in .30-40 caliber that is marked “U.S. / MODEL 1898. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY. 207698” on the receiver side rail. This gun is only one serial number before a gun tested at San Antonio Arsenal. Metal finish is original blue showing wear to light gray patina. Bore has a dark ring a few inches from the muzzle, otherwise very good with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows a few normal handling marks. The rear sight is NOT “C” marked. Otherwise, gun is correct. A good example of an American Krag Carbine.
